Tales from that "other" country, CANADA,

TYPICAL ENCOUNTER :
My relative, a student at Queens University
("QUEEN" honours the Queen of England,
the BRITISH Monarch), located in Kingston (city),
Ontario (province), Canada, (country), encountered
an interesting in-your-face example of a typical
"Canadian" brush with
la FLQ Federation du Quebequistan.
This student's car had ski racks on the roof,
a large Student campus Parking sticker on
the front window, and of course, a FRONT
licence plate on the front bumper. This is
an important detail, since "le cars" in
le FLQ Republique du Quebequistan, do NOT
have any licence plates on the front, so
that anyone looking down the highway
can spot a Canadian car, from a mile
away, . . . literally!

During March break, the ski resorts in
Quebequistan actively advertize ski
packages to students in "Canada", eager
for one last cash grab before the snow
melts, thus, the scenic, winding roads
leading to the picturesque hills, are
dotted with cars, all packed with typical
students, with skis on the roof, and
with clearly visible, white, reflective,
"Canadian" licences, with large blue
lettering, indicating "foreign", "alien",
"tresspassers", on FRENCH ONLY soil.

Enter, stage left, the glowing pinnacle
of Francophone Soverenty, le
QPP GESTAPO, the modern equivalent
of Charlie Chaplin's Keystone Cops --
the front line of defence of all things "Francais"!

The weekend traffic was steady, on the
two-lane, winding road, so that all vehicles
necessarily travelled the same speed --
there was simply no opportunity to pass.
No problem, the traffic moved briskly
and predictably, on a nice, sunny, wintery day.

Ah, ... but wait .. victims approacheth the
ever vigilant perch of the QPP GESTAPO,
and with sirens blasting, and lights flashing; -
that damned "rosbif" SHALL be hand-picked
and separated from the long line of cars -
which are all travelling the identical speed. . .

    Once pulled to the side of the road, the
QPP GESTAPO prepares his standard
intimidation routine -- speak quickly in
Quebequios to a car full of English-only,
young, inexperienced, students, with the
goal of reducing them into a snivelling
pile of wimps.
    However, on THIS day, while, yes, the
car had the beaming "Canadian" licence
on the front, and, yes, it was filled with
young students, and yes, there were skis
on the roofrack, -- THIS DAY would be full
of surprises. . .
     As the QPP GESTAPO started his "joual",
"le hamburger", "patois", rant, in the perfect
elocution of all patriots of le FLQ Republique
du Quebequistan, the unthinkable happened.
The driver, an International student, from
PARIS, FRANCE, asked le GESTAPO QPP, in
perfect, Parisian , FRENCH, to please repeat
the rant, because, as real FRENCH speaking
people say, " Je ne comprende pas".
"I do not understand"-- and who, in their right
mind, would or could, understand?    Forget
the University-class English students, who
were supposed to be bewildered by the
rapid-fire Quebequois, the true, FRENCH
speaking student from Paris, could not
understand anything. And even HE, spoke
perfect English!
Note that the English speaking relative
of mine, not only spoke well-educated,
University-class "Canadian" English, but,
spoke with slight
British accent, handed down from a
parent who was born in Jolly ole' England. . .
    So in a confusing dialogue of QPP
GESTAPOish-to-Parisian French, the
GESTAPO chose to drop "le hamburger"
completely, since, faced with REAL French,
he could not communicate at all. Period.
And thus starts the next Keystone Cop
moment, . . . ( too bad no one captured
this on a cell phone! The YouTube video
would go viral, locally, Continentally,
Internationally,
Planet-Wide, out to the Space Station,
Solar-System Wide, Galaxy Wide, and
soon UFO's would be crashing, as Aliens
lost control in fits of laughter. . . )
     So le GESTAPO QPP tries to speak only
ENGLISH, which is the "English" needed
for all "Bi-Lingual" Government workers, to
successfully get high-paying, power-weilding,
Federal Government job positions in
the " other," country, "CANADA".

After 25 minutes of wretched communication,
the Frenchman from Paris, finally figures out
that, while travelling in a line of cars all
going the same speed, HE was speeding,
and he accepted the ticket from the
QPP GESTAPO.
     He looked at the ticket, which thankfully,
was actually PRINTED in readable French,
and took out his wallet to pay the speeding
fine -- as is the correct FRENCH procedure
in PARIS, FRANCE.
     Well, here we go again, le QPP GESTAPO
immediately goes off on a rant about, get
this -- - - bribing a police officer -   - -
and thus continues a long dialogue in
"Anglais" (remember da tree tings)
educating le GESTAPO about everyday
"FRENCH" customs in PARIS, FRANCE, . . .
So . . . . .   if you are ever at a cafe in beautiful
Paris, overlooking the Eiffel Tower, while
sharing a nice bottle of wine, and mention
"QUEBEQUE French", do not be surprised by
the outburst of laughter.

strikes again. Can't speak French or
English, both, at the same time!

As usual, I am stuck in "CANADA",
the great white North, where
every factory I have known has
shut down... Recent Government/
Corporate policies, have every
scrap of technology shutting down,
and being boxed up for shipping
to CHINA, where the same
"unprofitable" factory, is running
tripple shifts! Canada is
becoming a " 3rd World " country,
if it does not already
deserve that status .... ANY product
"could" be made here, but
the few remaining Engineering and
Machining Corporations are
back-logged and ridiculously expensive.
WAY, way, back in 1985,
a group of us tried to make, and
market a small plastic
automobile device. The quote for
the empty BOX, with colourful
printing, and a clear plastic display
window, here in Canada was
over $6.00, The plastic injection
mold halves were $60,000 with
a 6 month turnover... If there were
any adjustments needed on
the molds, it would be another 6
months, and cost 10's of thousands...
We sent a prototype ( an early version,
complete with many known flaws! )
to HONG KONG, and the quote
was $500 for the machine molds
and 5 weeks. Adjustments were
FREE, and made in a week or two...!
We got bogged down with world
wide PATENTS, and to our dismay
and amusement, we discovered
our 'prototype' in novelty stores,
only a few months later, shipped
from Hong Kong, with the address
of a company in Great Britain!
(SEE the upcoming, VANCOUVER THIEVES ! ,
which will be a huge folder when
finished..) It was copied exactly
as we sent it - complete with flaws!...
In a colourful box with a cellophane
window... For about the price
of the empty box in Canada!

    the millions. GOOGLE was very simply designed
    with few parts, and few wired connections,
    to test the INTERFACE to the typical 80186
    computer I was using. Since thieves here
    in Ottawa stole my 2 Desktop computers,

    This motherboard uses the INTEL 80186
    which hundreds of HIGH-END manufacturers
    produced. These were more expensive
    and powerful than the typical home computer.
    Kids and inexperienced computer people
    will tell you that there is no such thing
    as an 80-186 computer! (weren't there,
    didn't see it, didn't do it !    lol )
     I still HAVE this motherboard. Luckily, it
    was not in storage where over a hundred
    old computers were stolen by thieves. . .
